Navigating NordicTrack Treadmills: Which One Is Best for You?

You might know NordicTrack as the maker of the skiing-style workout machines your mom (and all your friends’ moms) used when you were growing up. But the brand, which has been around since the ’70s, also makes really solid treadmills (and bikes!) for serious runners, casual walkers, and basically everyone in between. And there are a ton of options to choose from.

A treadmill is an obvious cardio machine to anchor your home gym. And people are really into the ones from NordicTrack.

The ’mills are durable and comfortable, and they come with HD smart screens to stream interactive trainer-led workouts from the iFit fitness platform. So you’ll get those motivational feels that used to happen in the gym right at home.

The only possible downside to buying from NordicTrack is figuring out which of their treadmills is right for you, because they have so many. Here, we’re breaking down some of their most popular offerings, including the best picks for hardcore runners and walkers, people who are short on space, and those who are looking for a budget option.

Nordic Track EXP 10i

nordictrack expi10

The EXP 10i offers many of the same features as NordicTrack’s pricier treadmills, including a sweet touch screen, access to iFit’s workout platform and personal trainers, and plenty of versatility in the speed and incline departments.

The slightly less powerful motor isn’t quite as supportive for regular hard runs, but it’s more than sufficient for walking — even if you plan on bumping up the incline to mimic an intense hike.

  • Dimensions: 79.9 x 35.08 x 59.25 in.
  • Weight: 329 lbs.
  • Belt size: 22 x 60 in.
  • Max speed: 12 mph

The treadmill that doubles as a personal trainer

NordicTrack Commercial 1750

nordictrack commercial 1750

Need help in the motivation department? Here’s the ’mill for you. This commercial-grade treadmill comes with a 1-year membership to the iFit workout platform, which gives you access to live trainer-led workouts 24/7.

But that’s not all: iFit’s Automatic Trainer Control feature gives your trainer access to your treadmill speed and incline to keep you moving. And you can text your trainer any time with workout Qs.

  • Dimensions: 81.25 x 39.25 x 62.75 in.
  • Weight: 339 lbs.
  • Belt size: 22 x 60 in.
  • Max speed: 12 mph
  • Incline: -3 to 15%
  • Workouts included?: One-year iFit Family Membership included with purchase gives you access to live trainer-led workouts, including the ability to text your trainers in real time.
  • Console/software deets: 10-in. smart HD touch screen, improved HD graphics, two digitally amplified speakers, Bluetooth connectivity

Best fold-up option

NordicTrack Commercial 2450

nordictrack 2450

Want a pro-level treadmill that’s also easy to store? The 2450 boasts many of the same features as the 1750 but has a larger touch screen to give you a more interactive and immersive workout.

Best of all, you can fold it flat when you’re not using it — and it’s actually pretty easy, thanks to the EasyLift Assist design that makes it simple to fold up the machine without any heavy lifting. (Because you already did your workout, right?!)

  • Dimensions: 81.25 x 39.25 x 59.25 in.
  • Console/software deets: 14-in. smart HD touch screen, improved HD graphics, two digitally amplified speakers, Bluetooth connectivity

Best value treadmill

NordicTrack EXP 7i

nordictrack expi7

The EXP 7i is NordicTrack’s base model. You’ll still get the high quality and comfort all the brand’s machines are known for, but in a more value-oriented ’mill that sticks with the basics. You can still access interactive iFit workouts, just with a smaller touch screen. And while you can still bump up the speed and incline nearly as high as on some of the brand’s other models, the motor isn’t commercial-grade powerful.

But hey, as long as you don’t have, like, 10 people running on your treadmill every day, that’s totes fine. It’s also got a slightly smaller profile, which is great if you’re tight on space.

  • Dimensions: 77.3 x 35.3 x 59.6 in.
  • Weight: 222 lbs.
  • Belt size: 22 x 60 in.
  • Max speed: 12 mph
  • Incline: 0 to 12%
  • Workouts included?: One-year iFit Family Membership included with purchase gives you access to live trainer-led workouts.
  • Console/software deets: 7-in. smart HD touch screen, two digitally amplified speakers, Bluetooth connectivity

The scoop on shipping, returns, warranties, etc.

In addition to making top-of-the-line treadmills, NordicTrack has pretty sweet buyer policies. Here are the basic deets on how your ’mill will make it to your home plus what happens if something goes wrong:

  • Shipping is free with your purchase.
  • Treadmills ship out within 1 to 3 business days (unless otherwise noted on the product page) and arrive 10 to 14 days after you place your order.
  • White Glove assembly is usually available, but the service is on hold right now because of restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. So you’ll have to assemble the ’mill yourself, but the brand provides assembly instructions. The whole process should take 60 to 90 minutes, they say.
  • If the treadmill isn’t right for you, you can return it for up to 30 days. You’ll pay $250 to cover return shipping.
  • Treadmills come with a 10-year frame warranty, 2-year parts warranty, and 1-year labor warranty.

So… which one should I get?

TBH, all NordicTrack treadmills are high quality, so picking the right one for you really comes down to your fitness habits, workout space, and budget.

If you’re a serious exerciser, it might be worth shelling out a little more for one of the brand’s commercial-grade treadmills, which offer more power and longevity. If you’re looking for something to use just a couple times a week or need a backup treadmill for bad weather days, the EXP ’mills deliver everything you need and more at a price that’s a little easier to swallow.
